Case Study - The Tour de France 2014
The Grand Depart took place outside Leeds Town Hall and the riders headed for Harewood House, on the northern outskirts of the city, to the official race start line.
We were involved at Harewood House where, due to the large number of people attending the Festival of Cycling , some infrastructure had to be put in place.
We set-out the positions of numerous features such as viewing areas, camping areas, food halls and toilet blocks.
One memorable aspect of the job was our transport arrangement. As the festival covered such a large area we hired a buggy to transport us around the grounds! Using our Leica GPS technology we were able to set-out all the required features within out one week deadline.
